Alex Van Pelt is the driving force behind beadALEX. She has been creating craft and art projects for years, and began making bead jewelry in 1998. The overwhelmingly positive response to her work lead her to take on custom jewelry projects and ultimately to offer her work for sale. As it turns out, she found making jewelry much more rewarding than her job as an office manager so she made it her full-time occupation in 2001.

beadAlex is a family owned and operated business. We give the same care and attention to every piece we sell that we do to our own jewelry. Your satisfaction is our number one concern. Additionally, we believe strongly in supporting small businesses. Therefore, we offer our jewelry only in local boutiques and gift shops, or directly from us.

We use the PayPal shopping cart system to process our online orders because we find it to be a secure and easy to make purchases online. Simply browse our site adding your selections to the PayPal shopping cart which will open in a separate window. Once you've finished shopping, click "checkout" and make one quick and easy payment.

PayPal will confirm your payment, in most cases by matching your shipping address to the address associated with your credit card. Once your payment to us is confirmed, we will ship out your order within 2 business days for in-stock items — custom orders will take longer. We ship using insured U.S. Postal Priority Mail. Sorry, we only ship within the U.S. at this time.

where did you get the name "beadALEX"?

The beadALEX philosophy is one of simplicity. This is reflected in the understated beauty and clean lines of our jewelry. Each stone carefully chosen to...oh right, the name. Quite simple, really. Most of our jewelry pieces use beads in the design. Our founder and jewelry designer's name is Alex (that's her in the upper right corner of this page!). Bead. Alex. beadALEX!
